Mobile Telecommunications Company Saudi Arabia (Zain Saudi) has directed the majority of its investments for the year towards expanding and developing its 5G network coverage, Chief Technology Officer Abdulrahman Al-Mufadda said on Sunday.

Speaking at a press conference to unveil the 5G services in the Kingdom, he said that the allocated investment mainly aims to develop the 5G services.

The first phase of rollout of Zain’s extensive 5G network will cover over 20 cities in the Kingdom and will be supported by 2,000 5G towers, making it the “largest 5G network in region”.

The network will expand by 2019-end to cover more cities with 2,600 5G towers.

Al-Mufadda said a coverage map was available online, which will make it convenient for users to check 5G availability in their locations.
