Zain Saudi Arabia (Zain KSA) has deployed 5G services in Saudi Arabia, after launching the first phase of those services - the largest in the region, the telecom operator said in a statement.
The first phase will cover 20 cities across the Kingdom through 2,000 telecommunications towers.
The coverage will be extended to 26 cities through 2,600 telecommunication towers by the end of this year.
"Deployment of the 5G services and extending the coverage to a large number of cities aim to enhance digital transformation in the Kingdom, in line with the Saudi Vision 2030," Zain Saudi added.
The telecom operator has fast tracked this advanced technology with the related applications, which are deemed a great shift in communications and digital technology to provide high-speed mobile internet to users Kingdom-wide.
"The 5G network will mark a significant change in the Saudi communications industry. It will develop new business models and offer opportunities in various sectors, such as finance, ICT, agriculture, tourism, entertainment, automobiles, healthcare, education and the public sector," said Sultan bin Abdulaziz AlDeghaither, CEO of Zain Saudi.
The new tech will also contribute to the Kingdom's economic growth and provide thousands of job opportunities, he added.
Zain Saudi will continue to enhance its services and launch new promotions, as part of its keenness to offer the 5G services to all sectors and retail clients at competitive prices.

The new tech gives subscribers access to innovative solutions, such as the augmented and virtual reality, three-dimension printing, robotics and entertainment content.
It also helps artificial intelligence and virtual reality researchers develop their studies.
