Competition Authority issues 22 final verdicts against violating companies in 2018

The General Authority for Competition said that 22 final verdicts in its favor were issued by the Administrative Court of Appeal in Riyadh against several infringing establishments in 2018 compared to 26 final judgments in 2017.

Irregularities in the field of import and sale of rice topped the final judgments at eight verdicts. Companies engaged in the activity of transporting and towing cars came second, followed by companies operating in the field of restaurants, food, beverages and packaging, the authority said in its annual report for 2018.

The committee responsible for studying the violations of the competition system has issued four preliminary judgments against violators, which may be challenged before the Administrative Court within 15 days from the date of informing the violator, the report added.
