Saudi SMEs, micro firms receive SAR 113 bln credit facilities in Q2 2019

Credit facilities extended to small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and micro businesses jumped 12 percent year-on-year (YoY) to more than SAR 113 billion in Q2 2019, data from the Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority (SAMA) showed.

 

Banks accounted for SAR 105.16 billion worth of credit facilities, or 93 percent of total financing. Facilities given by financing institutions stood at SAR 7.87 billion, or 7 percent of total credit facilities.

SMEs accounted for SAR 79.44 billion of Saudi banks' facilities, with micro firms holding SAR 23.11 billion in the second quarter of the year.
