The total value of assets held by investment funds in Saudi Arabia grew by 4 percent year-on-year (YoY) to SAR 323 billion in Q2 2019, data issued by the Capital Market Authority (CMA) showed.
The increase was driven by a 4 percent YoY rise in the total value of assets held by private funds to SAR 196.9 billion in the same period. Private funds accounted for 61 percent of total fund assets in the Kingdom.
The value of public investment funds rose 5 percent from the previous quarter to SAR 126.11 billion.
The number of subscribers in Saudi investment funds declined to 339,400 in Q2 2019 from 360,400 a year earlier.
Meanwhile, the number of subscribers in public investment funds declined 6 percent YoY to 335,400 for the same period.

The value of assets held by money market and equity funds stood at SAR 73.5 billion and SAR 21.7 billion respectively in Q2 2019, representing 75 percent of total public funds’ assets.
