Market capitalization of Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) decreased 1.15 percent month-on-month (MoM) to SAR 2.06 trillion in July 2019, according to monthly data released by the market.
The total value of shares traded declined 12.89 percent MoM to SAR 65.16 billion.
Saudi investors bought SAR 48.93 billion worth of shares, or 75.10 percent of the total buying transactions. They sold SAR 56.35 billion in shares, or 86.48 percent of the selling transactions.
Saudi citizens’ ownership of total market capitalization edged down 0.38 percent, accounting for 90.20 percent of total market capitalization in July.
GCC investors bought SAR 1.35 billion in shares, or 2.07 percent of the total buying volume. They sold SAR 2.33 billion in shares, representing 3.58 percent of the selling transactions.
GCC investors’ ownership also slipped 0.01 percent to 1.94 percent of the market capitalization last month.
Foreign investors bought SAR 14.88 billion in shares, accounting for 22.83 percent of buying activity. They sold SAR 6.47 billion in shares, or 9.94 percent of total selling activity.
Foreign ownership of Saudi stocks in July rose 0.39 percent MoM to 7.86 percent of the total market capitalization.
