The fees to be defined by the ministry of municipal and rural affairs for allowing businesses to operate around the clock will not exceed SAR 100,000 per year.
Saudi Arabia’s cabinet approved earlier this month allowing commercial businesses and shops to open 24 hours in return of a charge to be determined by the minister of municipal and rural affairs.
As stated earlier, some businesses will be excluded from paying the ministry fees based on their nature.
The ministry of municipal and rural affairs will coordinate with the ministry of interior to set the approval conditions.
Meanwhile, the labor ministry will set the work hours’ regulations, so as to start implementing the decision after three months from obtaining the rural ministry’s approval.
