Jarir Marketing Co.’s market share increased after the marketing and promotional campaigns and currently exceeds 20 percent, Chairman Muhammad Al-Agil told CNBC Arabia.
“Electronics and computer sales, which account for nearly 70 percent of the firm’s total sales, rose over 10 percent in the second quarter of 2019,” Al-Agil said.
“Jarir’s e-commerce doubled in Q2,” he added, pointing out that “the firm aims for more than 5 percent in online sales out of its total sales for 2019.”
Commenting on Q2 results, Al-Agil said that the second quarter is usually the weakest due to the school season and the change in product mix.
According to data compiled by Argaam, Jarir’s net profit rose 4 percent year-on-year in Q2 to SAR 169.1 million.
