Saudi Basic Industries Corp (SABIC), in cooperation with the High Institute for Elastomer Industries (HIEI) in Yanbu and a group of local companies, signed an agreement to implement a training-based employment program.
The agreement is a part of SABIC’s effort to support local content and develop human capabilities in the industrial field.
The program is expected to qualify as many as 200 Saudi nationals for local positions, the petrochemical producer said in a statement.
Through the Muahal program of the national initiative (Nusaned), SABIC will cooperate with HIEI to train 200 nationals to fill machinery maintenance and operation jobs within the beneficiary companies.
The firm will also sponsor two-year training at HIEI through workshops on SABIC values and ethics, intellectual property rights and the power of innovation, which will contribute to enhancing the skills and knowledge of the trainees to meet the requirements and needs of the local labor market.
