She presented on Wednesday a copy of her credentials to the US State Department, the princess said on her twitter account.
“Princess Reema bint Bandar began her mission immediately to strengthen the historic partnership between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United States of America,” the Saudi Press Agency reported, citing Fahd Nazer, the spokesperson of the Kingdom's embassy in Washington.
He added that the princess will work to develop the strategic relationship and continue to build the main areas of cooperation between the two countries.
Princess Reema is the 11th ambassador to the United States of America since 1945 and the first Saudi woman to hold this post.
