First commercial flight departs from Neom Bay Airport

The first commercial flight departed from Neom Bay Airport on Sunday, Transport Minister Nabil Al-Amoudi said on Twitter.

 

Saudi Arabian Airlines (Saudia) also said it will operate two weekly flights from Riyadh to Neom Bay Airport starting on Sunday.

 

The Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) inaugurated on June 25 the new airport in the northern region of Sharma. It will serve the $500 billion cross-border futuristic city in Tabuk Province. 

 

Neom is expected to be a hub for various industries, such as biotech, artificial intelligence, mobility, and construction. These sectors are expected to generate annual revenue worth $100 billion through Neom, Argaam earlier reported citing CEO Nadhmi Al-Nasr.
