The total value of assets held by investment funds in Saudi Arabia jumped 7 percent to SAR 310 billion in Q1 2019, compared to end of 2018, data issued by the Capital Market Authority (CMA) showed.
The increase was driven by a 7 percent YoY rise in the total value of assets held by private funds to SAR 190.2 billion in Q1. Private funds accounted for 61.4 percent of total fund assets in the Kingdom.
The value of public investment funds grew by 7 percent from the previous quarter to SAR 119.8 billion.
The number of subscribers in Saudi investment funds rose to 360,400 in Q1 from 336,500 a year earlier. Also, the number of subscribers in public investment funds edged up 7 percent YoY to 356,400 for the same period.

Meanwhile, the value of assets held by equity and real estate funds came in at SAR 122.6 billion and SAR 52.1 billion respectively, accounting for 91.9 percent of the total assets of private funds.
