IndependentUrdu.com Is Launched and Baker Atyani Is the Editor-in-Chief

Saudi Research and Marketing Group (SRMG) announced the soft launch of www.independenturdu.com. The website comes as the third phase of SRMG’s project to launch The Independent in Arabic, Turkish, Urdu and Persian under a licensing agreement that was signed and announced last year with the British publisher of The Independent. SRMG also announced appointing Baker Atyani, the well-known journalist as the Editor-in-Chief of the Independent Urdu. A group of famous and well experienced journalists have already joined the project and working in its offices in Islamabad, Pakistan.

Mr. Atyani enjoys a very extensive and rich experience as journalist, political analyst and TV producer. Mr. Atyani is very well versed with the Asian current affairs.

On this occasion, Abdulrahman Alrowaita, Chairman of SRMG, said: “The launch of Independenturdu.com stands as the third phase of our multi-lingual project with The Independent. We are so eager to have the new website able to attract a wider readership of Urdu language to read a diversified, but highly professional content.
