STC aims to lead digital transformation locally, regionally: CEO
Saudi Telecom Co. (STC) aims to benefit from carefully selected opportunities to lead the digital transformation in the Kingdom and the MENA region, CEO Nasser bin Sulaiman Al Nasser said.
The telecom firm has taken great steps toward the digital transformation, smart cities, cloud computing solutions, the internet of things (IoT) and 5G services, he said in a panel discussion at the Future Investment Initiative (FII) 2018 conference in Riyadh.
Al Nasser called for encouraging investments in digital infrastructure and promoting demand for digital services in-line with Vision 2030, he said, noting that innovation and investment are two main factors needed to accelerate global digital transformation.
The three important aspects of the digitalizing process are: developing digital infrastructure, promoting industry digitalization, and accelerating talent development, he said.
STC is one of seven strategic FII partners, and the Saudi-listed telecom operator is committed to implementing digitalization in and outside the Kingdom, Al Nasser added.
Over the coming five years, STC plans to achieve sustainable growth by expanding both its geographical area and business portfolio, he added.
