InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has signed a master development agreement (MDA) with Saudi Arabia’s Al Hokair Group to open at least 10 Holiday Inn Express hotels over next 15 years, the company said in a statement on Wednesday.

Under the agreement, the first 200-room Holiday Inn Express will open in Jeddah, closely followed by openings in major cities across the Kingdom.

All the hotels will be operated under long-term franchise agreements, the statement said.

Currently, Al Hokair Group operates six Holiday Inn hotels, while IHG operates 31 hotels in the Kingdom.
