Saudi Arabia awarded $6.1 billion worth of projects last November, up 942 percent, from $581 million in October, MEED reported.

 

Contracts worth a total of $5.5 billion were awarded in the oil & gas sector, while $130 million worth of deals were awarded in water projects, $157 million in transport projects, $108 million in construction, in addition to industrial contracts amounting to $95 million.

 

The largest contract in the Kingdom during the month was for the sixth phase of the Safaniya field development project, awarded by Saudi Aramco to McDermott International. The deal was valued at $1.2 billion.

 

In the Middle East overall, a total of $21.8 billion worth of contracts were awarded in November, versus $9.3 billion in October.
