UAE’s Agthia Group acquires Delta’s water business in Saudi Arabia

Abu Dhabi-listed Agthia Group has completed the acquisition of Delta Marketing Company’s water business in Saudi Arabia, it said in a statement on Wednesday, without disclosing the value of the deal.

The transaction is expected to be completed in April.

“Over the coming years, Agthia plans to expand its operations in Saudi Arabia, leveraging its operational and industry expertise to develop a thriving water business as part of our commitment to deliver sustainable growth for our shareholders.” said Dhafer Ayed Al Ahbabi, chairman of Agthia.

Agthia will now produce Al Ain Water, one of the UAE’s leading bottled water brands, in Saudi Arabia for the first time.

The company has three water brands mainly in the Western Region of the country: Delta Water, Al-Ain, and Bambini. Agthia also operates bulk water distribution business that mainly serves large industrial companies.

Agthia had signed a share purchase agreement with delta back in November 2016.
