Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) fired an employee who had been working with the company for 22 years after he was found guilty of fraud and bribery, according to a report published in Al-Sharq newspaper.

 

The unnamed employee-- deprived of his bonuses and benefits-- was slapped with a fine and a prison sentence after being convicted of the crimes, said Ziad Alsheiha, chief executive of SEC.

 

The sentence has been upheld by Jeddah’s administrative court of appeals.

 

Alsheiha stressed that SEC is committed to its values, principles, and professional ethics.
