Saudi Transport Minister launches initial ops at KKIA terminal 1

Saleh Al-Jasser, Minister of Transport and Logistic Services

Saudi Minister of Transport and Logistic Services Saleh Al-Jasser launched the initial operations at the international terminal 1 as part of the expansion and development project of terminals 1 and 2 at King Khalid International Airport (KKIA) in Riyadh.

The phased inauguration of international terminal 1 will contribute to increasing the operational capacity from 3 million to 7 million passengers annually, the state-owned SPA reported quoting the minister.

The initiative aims to expand the capacity of the Kingdom's airports, increase travel, support economic and tourism growth, enhance Riyadh's international air connectivity and boost efficiency, Al-Jasser said.

These efforts align with Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 and the National Transport and Logistics Strategy, he stated.
