Saudi Arabia’s merchandise imports fell 1% year-on-year (YoY) to almost SAR 60.3 billion, according to data issued by the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT).

Meanwhile, merchandise imports decreased 17%, or nearly SAR 12.7 billion, month-on-month (MoM), as follows:

Imports of machinery and mechanical appliances; electrical equipment, and their parts accounted for 27%, or SAR 16 billion, of the total Saudi imports in April.

 

Vehicles, aircraft, vessels, and associated transport equipment came second at 12%.

Saudi Arabia’s imports came mainly from China in April, valued at SAR 13.49 billion or 22% of the total.

 

The US and the UAE followed with SAR 5.03 billion and SAR 3.96 billion, respectively.

 

The top 10 exporters to Saudi Arabia accounted for almost 62%, or SAR 37.5 billion, of the total imports in April, as shown below:
