US crude oil inventories add more than 9M barrels last week: API

US crude oil inventories rose by 9.34 million barrels during the week ended March 22, American Petroleum Institute (API) data showed.

 

Gasoline stocks fell by 4.4 million barrels last week, while distillate stocks—including diesel and heating oil—rose by about 531,000 barrels.

 

Meanwhile, Brent crude futures for June delivery (the most active) fell 0.5%, or 45 cents, to close at $85.63 a barrel on March 26, recovering from intraday low of $85.45.

 

WTI crude for May delivery fell by 0.40%, or 33 cents, to $81.62 a barrel, after an earlier decline to $81.43.
