Citizen Account deposits SAR 3.7 bln for eligible beneficiaries in September

Saudi Arabia deposited SAR 3.7 billion in the accounts of eligible beneficiaries in September.

The 70th installment was granted to 11.3 million beneficiaries, representing 76% of eligible households and individuals.

The number of households benefiting from the program in this payment amounted to more than 2.1 million families, or 75% of total beneficiaries, while the number of beneficiaries with dependents reached 8.3 million.

Meanwhile, the number of independent beneficiaries who met the eligibility criteria stood at over 718,000, constituting 25% of the total main beneficiaries.

The total support value for beneficiaries of the "Citizen Account" in the 70 payments reached SAR 175 billion, including SAR 2.38 billion in retroactive amounts, according to data compiled by Argaam.

On Aug. 2, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud issued directives to extend support for the Citizen’s Account beneficiaries for an additional two months until September 2023. Registration in the Citizen’s Account Program will also remain open, according to data compiled by Argaam.

The step came in continuation of the royal directive issued in July 2022 to provide additional financial support to beneficiaries of the Citizen Account Program until 2022-end.

This is in addition to the royal directives in January and April 2023 to extend the program and provide additional support, as well as continue to open registration for it until July 2023 in accordance with the previously announced controls.
