King Salman orders to establish Global Cybersecurity Forum Foundation

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, issued a Royal Decree to establish the Global Cybersecurity Forum Foundation, Saudi Press Agency reported.

To be headquartered in Riyadh, this non-profit foundation will have a legal personality and enjoy financial and administrative independence. In addition, it will have full capacity to achieve its goals and manage its affairs under the supervision of its board of trustees.

The foundation also aims to contribute to strengthening cybersecurity, international cooperation, as well as economic and social development in this field. In addition, it seeks to harmonize and support international cybersecurity-related efforts.

The launch of this foundation affirms the Kingdom's global leadership in cybersecurity, as well as its role in supporting international efforts, unifying joint endeavors, opening horizons for the transfer of knowledge and exchange of experiences. The move also aims to explore opportunities for cooperation in the cybersecurity sector, especially amid the gains achieved by the Saudi experience in cybersecurity locally, regionally, and globally.

The Kingdom became a successful and pioneering model recognized internationally in cybersecurity. Thus, it secured advanced ranks in a number of international indicators.

Saudi Arabia's cybersecurity model, accordingly, became an effective driver for the creation of a safe and reliable global cyberspace ensuring growth and prosperity for people.
