King Salman orders to convert King Faisal Specialist Hospital into non-profit organization

Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz issued a Royal Decree on converting King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre (KFSH) into a non-profit, independent organization, Saudi Press Agency reported.

 

The move aims to launch a comprehensive transformation program to make KFSH one of the best healthcare centers in the world. It also aims to sustainably develop the hospital’s services, capacity, and research, in line with Vision 2030.

 

KFSH will open branches and provide its services to all people, with the aim of improving the quality of life.

 

Fahd Al-Rasheed, CEO of the Royal Commission for Riyadh City (RCRC) and Chairman of KFSH, said the hospital is one of the distinguished health centers in the region, and this transformation aims to sustainably develop the hospital's services, capacity, and research to become one of the best centers in the world.

 

He stressed that the move is a key enabler of the transformation journey, which the hospital is going through to achieve its goals of improving the quality of life, in line with Vision 2030.

 

The hospital’s board of directors supervises and follows up this large-scale transformation program through adopting a continuous development approach for employees. This will be reflected in improving the capacity and capabilities of the hospital to provide more distinguished healthcare services to patients. Accordingly, the center will become a global destination for medical tourism.

 

KFSH is the most prominent healthcare organization in the Kingdom and the region, as it provides world-class healthcare. It aspires to become one of the best educational healthcare centers in the world over the next 10 years, through attracting the best local and international talents.

 

CEO Majid Al Fayyadh said all hospital services will remain available during the transformation journey, adding that the hospital and center staff will lead the center's transformation into a non-profit organization.
