Prices of 102 Saudi commodities rise in October 2021

Prices of 63 goods and services in Saudi Arabia decreased year-on-year (YoY) in October 2021, while prices of 102 out of 166 commodities rose, data issued by the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) showed.

 

Out of the 91 food products, local fresh laban recorded the biggest rise by 19.21% YoY. It was followed by Al Arabi vegetable oil with a 19.20% increase YoY.

 

On the other hand, Egyptian navel oranges and Indian cardamom saw the steepest decline YoY at 19.27% and 18.39%, respectively.

 

Meanwhile, prices of 34 construction materials increased YoY in October, while the remaining four products saw declines during the same month.

 

Prices of all 11 fodder and livestock products increased in October on a YoY basis.

 

For clothes, seven items under this category saw an increase and three others saw a decrease.

 

Two out four personal services saw a YoY rise in October.

 

Prices of three out of four detergents increased last month when compared to the same period previous year.

 

Elsewhere, prices of two out of three healthcare services were up in the same period.

 

Similarly, prices of one out of two services under the maintenance and repair of personal means of transportation grew in October YoY.

 

Price of both hotel-and-apartment services rose on an annual basis in October.

 

Under tobacco, prices of Marlboro cigarettes fell by 1.06% per pack YoY.
