Saudi pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai

Saudi Arabia inaugurated its pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai on Friday, Oct. 1, in the presence of some officials, led by Mohammed Al-Tuwaijri, Advisor at the Royal Court and Vice Chairman of the Supervisory Committee of the Saudi Pavilion.

Hussain Hanbazazah, Commissioner-General of the Saudi Pavilion, said the pavilion offers rich and varied content, activities and programs covering the economy, development and culture, targeting all segments from children and families to businessmen and investors.

The pavilion, which spans 13,000 square meters (sqm), is the second largest after that of the UAE. It has been awarded LEED version 4 Platinum rating from the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), the highest internationally recognized sustainability rating in Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design.

The dignitaries were among the first to experience the pavilion's 14 cultural landmarks along a stunning escalator ride, including acclaimed UNESCO World Heritage Sites such as At-Turaif District in Ad-Diriyah, Hegra Archaeological Site in AlUla, and Historic Jeddah.

The pavilion showcases many ambitious projects under Saudi Vision 2030, such as Diriyah Gate and Red Sea projects.

The briefing featured an introduction to the audiovisual guide, through which guests can explore 23 destinations such as world-leading giga-projects that are rewriting the possibilities of sustainable development.

The pavilion offers a daily program for its visitors, including distinctive cultural elements that highlight the rich national heritage, sustainable energy activities, scientific programs and competitions for families and children.

The pavilion's activities will last until March 30, 2022, as part of the new edition of Expo 2020 Dubai, in which more than 190 countries are participating, including the Kingdom.
