Nazaha announces verdicts in criminal cases

The Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority (Nazaha) announced the issuance of a number of verdicts on cases it has previously initiated. The perpetrators were referred to the divisions of financial and administrative corruption at the Criminal Court in Riyadh.

The first ruling was issued convicting a policeman of helping some arrested persons to escape. The court imprisoned him for seven years and imposed a fine of SAR 60,000.

The second verdict convicted a province governor of bribery and embezzlement. The court imprisoned him for three years and imposed a fine of SAR 25,000.

Other verdicts were issued convicting a municipality official of receiving a bribe and money laundry. He was sentenced to an 11-year imprisonment. A Saudi national was also convicted of offering a bribe. He was sentenced to a five -year jail and he was ordered to pay a fine of SAR 350,000.

Moreover, a judge was convicted of offering a bribe and administrative abuse. He was sentenced to a 10-year jail and was ordered to pay a fine of SAR 600,000.

An officer was also convicted of power abuse. He was sentenced to a four-year imprisonment and was ordered to pay SAR 20,000.
