Al Kathiri subsidiary’s 3D concrete panel factory to start trial operations on Aug. 15

Al Kathiri Holding Co. said that the trial operations for the plant of Alian Industry Company, a wholly-owned subsidiary that produces 3D concrete panels using Italian technology, will start as of Aug. 15.

In a statement to Tadawul today, Aug. 8, the company explained that the trial run will commence after the success of the tests of machines and production lines, the verification of all operational and non-operational aspects, as well as the success of the factory equipment testing operations.

Trial production operations will continue gradually as per the operational and quality requirements, considering that the employment rates will rise slowly according to the production plan and market conditions.

The delay in the project was due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic in Italy and the suspension of air traffic, which

affected the presence of Italian installation and operation specialists to the Kingdom.

The costs associated with the delay cannot be identified at present and will be determined later, the statement noted.

The 3D concrete panel technology is advanced and distinguished globally and is an alternative to traditional building methods. The new technology saves costs by 30% compared to the traditional building and reduces building time to three months. It is also known for its flexibility in applying modern architectural designs, which can be used in residential and commercial real estate and mega-projects. They achieve the highest standards of efficiency in acoustic and thermal insulation.

This Italian technology is used in the European Union and the US.

In October 2019, Al Kathiri announced the start of construction of Alian factory to produce 3D concrete panels in Sudair City for Industry and Businesses.

Alian inked a SAR 23.2 million credit facility agreement with the Saudi Industrial Development Fund’s (SIDF) to finance the firm’s three-dimensional concrete panel factory.
