Saudi Arabia ranks first in 3 global indices in response to COVID-19: Adaa

Saudi Arabia was ranked first worldwide in three international indicators during the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak in 2020 and 2021, Saudi Press Agency reported, citing the National Center for Performance Measurement (Adaa).

Saudi Arabia was ranked first in indices of “entrepreneurs response to COVID-19 pandemic” and “government’s response in supporting entrepreneurs”, according to the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) report for 2020-2021.

Saudi Arabia also ranked first worldwide for 2020 in the "Food Standards" index, a subcomponent of the Global Food Security Index (GFSI).

The Global Food Security Index (GFSI) is issued annually by the Economic Intelligence Unit, covering areas related to food security and insecurity. It also measures dietary quality and diversity as well as food safety during 2020.

Additionally, Saudi Arabia advanced to the eighth place during the pandemic, in GFSI Availability Index among 113 countries; advanced nine notches in growth of grain and vegetable production and made it to the world’s top 20 countries for the safety of crops post-harvest and before consumption.

Saudi Arabia was also able to advance in most of the indicators of the Global Soft Power Index, exceeding 85 countries in responding the COVID-19 pandemic, ranking 20th globally in the Brand Finance report.

Adaa is tasked with performance measurement and enablement of government entities. The enablement involves providing tools, frameworks and educational support which enables better measurement and development. The performance-monitoring agency was established in 2016.
