Saudi Arabia affirms priority for those who did not perform Hajj for past 5 years

Saudi Arabia announced that priority this year will be given to those pilgrims who did not perform Hajj over the last five years, according to Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Abdul Fattah Mashat.

“The competent authorities thoroughly studied all indicators, mapping out a new model, which will comply with the highest healthcare criteria, and will come in line with the Kingdom’s measures to maintain the pilgrims’ safety,” Mashat said on the sidelines of a press conference held today, June 13, 2021, with the Ministry of Health to discuss the pilgrimage.

According to data compiled by Argaam, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah announced today that Hajj and Umrah will be held with a limited number of pilgrims this year. Registration will be limited to 60,000 pilgrims of nationals and residents inside the Kingdom only.

The ministry stressed that those wishing to perform Hajj must be free of any chronic diseases, and also within the age between 18-65 years for those vaccinated against the virus.
