Industry minister launches ‘Made in Saudi’ program

Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Alkhorayef at the launch of ‘Made in Saudi’ program 

The confidence in the national product has major economic repercussions in stimulating local investments and attracting foreign investments, the Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, and chairman of the Saudi Export Development Authority (SEDA), Bandar Alkhorayef, said today, March 28, 2021, during the launch of “Made in Saudi” program, under the patronage of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

This confidence contributes to creating job opportunities, enhancing the ability to export, improving the balance of payments and broadening the Kingdom's economic base in general.

The "Made in Saudi" program enhances this culture, as the society is a partner in favoring the Saudi product and giving it a priority in achieving the program’s goals, which reflects Vision 2030’s aspirations.

The minister affirmed: "The Crown Prince’s aspirations make us feel the size and importance of the program and its great contributions to boosting preference to the national product and developing local content."

The "Made in Saudi" program will provide a wide range of benefits and opportunities for companies and members to expand their work scope and promote their products locally and internationally. Those who meet the program’s conditions will be able to use the program’s logo on their products.

Alkhorayef explained that the global brand will be deployed in the international markets and the Kingdom’s products bearing the "Saudi Made" logo will be introduced, distinguished by quality and reliability.

The minister indicated that the program underwent several phases, starting with studying the market reality, consumer behavior, as well as interaction with local firms to understand their needs, concluding with analysis the countries’ experiences and the best international practices adopted in such programs.
