Abdullah Al Othaim Markets Co. (Al Othaim) said that there was an unexpected technical glitch in one of the refrigeration units at its Hail branch, which led to the melting of some frozen food products that deemed them unfit, and was considered a commercial violation.
According to a bourse statement, the company affirmed its keenness on the safety of operations across its 246 branches spread throughout the Kingdom.
Al Othaim obtained the international ISO certificate for food safety management system after achieving quality standards in managing food handling operations.
According to data compiled by Argaam, the Ministry of Commerce convicted the company's branch in Hail, following a court ruling, of violating the Anti-Commercial Fraud Law and offering spoiled food products that are unfit for consumption.
