Mawani hands over allocated land to NPCC for Saudi fabrication yard

Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) and the National Petroleum Construction Company (NPCC) signed a hand-over ceremony of the land for commencing the construction of a fabrication yard at Ras Al Khair Port.

The agreement was signed by Eng. Ahmed Al Dhaheri, CEO of NPCC, and Capt. Abdulla bin Saeed Al Shahrani, Director of Ras Al Khair Port, Mawani on the sidelines of the in-Kingdom Total Value-Add (IKTVA) Forum and Exhibition 2020, organised by Saudi Aramco.

The hand-over of the land follows an agreement signed between NPCC and Saudi Aramco in 2018 to build a fully integrated fabrication yard and marine base in Ras Al Khair, for a total investment of SAR 160 million.

To be built over 450,000 square meters, the fabrication yard will create over 2,000 jobs, Mawani said in a statement.

“We constantly strive to expand our operations in Saudi Arabia to meet the growing demand for our services across the country as well as to strengthen local capabilities, in line with IKTVA objectives,” Al Dhaheri said.

NPCC has signed a long-term agreement with Saudi Aramco for offshore projects that led to the firm winning 12 major projects valued at around SAR 10 billion, covering engineering, procurement, construction, fabrication, installment and operation activities.
