The Saudi Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) said the total number of individuals and businesses that registered for value-added tax (VAT) reached 26,540.

ZATCA is committed to applying VAT provisions, including penalties on violations, Al-Eqtisadiah newspaper reported.

A fine of SAR 10,000 will be imposed on those who fail to register for VAT during the regulatory period, ZATCA added.
