Egypt has added a new gas well, Niduko South West 3, to the production map for the Noroos gas field in the Delta area, with a production capacity of 180 million square meters per day, state-owned Al-Ahram newspaper reported on Tuesday citing a ministry statement.
Petrobel Co. has completed the Noroos gas field expedition, by creating development wells and connecting them to production plants in just two months, Petroleum Minister Tarek Al-Mulla said in the statement.
Niduko South West 3 is the 15th development well to be discovered in Noroos field, which has been consistently producing 1.2 billion square meters of gas per day, achieving the highest production rate of natural gas in the history of Nile Delta area, he said.
There is room for increasing output if the needed production facilities are provided, Al-Mulla added.
