Saudi Electricity Co., which is 74 percent owned by the government, signed 10 contracts worth SAR 4.1 billion to build power projects and buy condensers across the country to increase power generation in order to keep pace with economic development, a top official in the company said.
The company will build 6 transformer stations in Wa’ad Al-Shamal, Al-Juof, Al-Quraiat and Arar in the north and al-Khafji in the eastern region and in al-Madhaia in Jazan which will be operational within 29 months, Chief Executive Officer Zayad al-Shiha said.
The contracts also include building a 23-KM long road, two double-lines with a voltage of 380 kilovolts between Bishah and al-Taif and Al-Juof and Arar power stations
