Petrochem announces the commercial startup of its Saudi Polymers Company project

In reference to The National Petrochemical Company (Petrochem) previous announcement on 23/6/2012 on Tadawuls website, regarding the startup of its joint venture project, the Saudi Polymers Company. Petrochem announces that as of October 1st 2012, the project has started full commercial operations.

This commercial operations will be reflected in Petrochems financials starting from the 4thquarter 2012.

Saudi Polymers Company is owned 65% by Petrochem and 35% by Arabian Chevron Phillips Petrochemical Company Limited. And is built on a total land area of 1.1 million square meters in AlJubail Industrial City, the site produces the following products:

1.6 Million Tons of Ethylene, (1.1) Million Tons of Polyethylene (HDPE and LDLPE), (400) Thousand Tons of Polypropylene, (430) Thousand Tons of Propylene, (200) Thousand Tons of Polystyrene, and (100) Thousand Tons of 1-Hexene
