Oil tankers
US oil inventories fell by about 2.5 million barrels during the week ended Jan. 26, the American Petroleum Institute (API) data showed.
Gasoline stocks rose by 600,000 barrels last week, while distillate stocks— including diesel and heating oil—fell by about 2.1 million barrels.
Meanwhile, Brent crude for April delivery (the most active) rose 0.8%, or 67 cents, to close at $82.50 per barrel on Jan. 30.
WTI crude for March delivery increased by 1.35%, or $1.04, to $77.82 per barrel, after touching $78.14 during the session.
