Latest data from the American Petroleum Institute (API) showed that US oil inventories fell by 2.67 million barrels in the week ended April 14.
In its weekly report, API said gasoline stocks fell by 1.01 million barrels last week, and distillate stocks fell by 1.90 million barrels.
The US Energy Information Administration is scheduled to release official data on inventories today, April 19, amid expectations that crude stocks will fall by 2.5 million barrels.
Oil close slightly higher on April 18. Brent crude added one cent to settle at $84.77 a barrel, and WTI crude rose 0.04% to record $80.86 a barrel.
