Saudi Electricity says operational plan of Hajj 2021 season ‘successful’

Saudi Electricity Co. (SEC) announced the success of the operational plan for Hajj 2021 season without any effective power outage or emergency disruption in Makkah and the Holy Sites.

 

Abdulsalam Al-Omari, Head of the Western Sector at SECand General Supervisor of the Hajj plan, said the company provided the reliable electrical services necessary for the comfort of the pilgrims in Makkah and the Holy Sites, according to the highest international security and safety standards, Al-Riyadh newspaper reported.

 

SEC’s electrical network system in the western region witnessed a normal and stable performance throughout the Hajj period, and contributed to providing electrical service to the pilgrims in the Holy Sites, Makkah and Madinah.

 

The success of the company’s operational plan this year was driven bythe great efforts made by SEC after the end of last year’s Hajj season, and its implementation of a number of new projects to enhance the electrical system in Makkah and the Holy Sites, for a total value of more than SAR 481 million.

 

The performance of the power transmission circuits was at a high degree of stability, and during the Hajj season, no major faults were reported, Al-Omari concluded.

 

SEC will start cooperating with its entire engineering, technical and administrative staffon intensive preparations for next year’s Hajj 2022 immediately after the end of this year’s Hajj season, he concluded.
