Saudi Electricity signed today five contracts worth SAR 2.2 billion to install transmission stations in Tabuk and Jeddah, and gas-fuelled generation units at Al-Qurayyat and Rafha, said CEO Ziad bin Mohammed Al-Shiha.
The first contract covers the installation of Tabuk 380-kilovolt transmission station, while the second includes the building of Al-Samer 380-kilovolt transmission station in Jeddah.
The third includes the installation of two gas-fuelled stations at Al-Qurayyat, and the fourth covers the building of a gas-fuelled station at Rafha.
The fifth contract is related to the deployment of cables to connect Al-Raed station with Arqa station to enhance the gird reliability in Riyadh.
The CEO said all the projects are planned to be functional in 29 months from the signing date.
